About the Department
The Department of Management, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka, was established in 1970, when the Department of Commerce became an independent faculty. Commerce itself has been taught at the University since the 1922–23 session.
Today the Department offers undergraduate, graduate, professional and research degrees, and has produced around 50,000 graduates. Most of its faculty are internationally trained with strong research and publication records, and three of its professors have served on government deputation as Vice-Chancellor or Treasurer.

Highlights from the Chairman's message
The Chairman welcomes new students and congratulates them on succeeding in a highly competitive admission process. He explains that the Department aims to prepare graduates as management specialists, with degrees that build the knowledge and skills needed for leadership positions.
He stresses the Department's high academic standards and the importance of resource management for the country, and describes a service-oriented faculty who share their knowledge openly and use state-of-the-art teaching methods and materials.
He closes with the hope that the Department will continue to grow and lead in global markets.
